Church websites have come a long ways over the past few years. Designs that looked great 3 or 4 years ago are now are outdated and hard to use. It’s tough for churches to keep up because of their limited budgets and limited time. With the increasing number of mobile users, websites must also look and function great on different screen sizes. Picking a website system can be a complicated process. I personally like WordPress, but it is hard to setup and configure for a non-techie, and it is not customized for churches without the use of special church specific templates.
Many of the churches I talk to want a system they can manage and use on their own. For the Do-It-Yourselfer, there are a few different options like SquareSpace, WIX, and LightCMS. But it is still tough to customize a homepage and site that works well for a church. Churches are different from businesses, and it helps to start with a system that is customized and designed specifically for the church environment. That’s where Ministry Designs fits in. I was recently introduced to their service and I like what they offer. Their platform has been built from the ground up as a great system for churches.
Ministry Designs offers a custom website builder specifically designed for churches. It features drag and drop functionality along with great responsive designs. They offer unlimited audio sermon storage and they can integrate online giving directly into the site. The group behind Ministry Designs also believes in the importance of the local church. They provide support and work with you to help you develop a site that works for you.
The real strength of their system lies in their beautiful templates. Their responsive templates work well on different screen sizes, and they have a sleek and contemporary look and feel. A template handles the tough design work for you. Fonts, colors, and layouts have already been designed for you as a starting point. You simply add your text and logos, and you can have your site completed quickly.
Drag and Drop Page Builder
Their drag and drop page builder allows you to edit text and content directly on the site. You immediately see results and see how your changes affect other parts of the page. I played around with one of their demos and I was able to figure it out easily without even referring to their guides or documentation. It’s definitely easy to use. The quickest way to see how it works is to see it in action. Check out the following video for a complete overview.
A good system is not helpful if it is not affordable. Many website solutions for churches are simply too expensive for many of the churches I work with. I feel like most church management systems and church website solutions are geared toward larger churches who have technical staff and large budgets. The pricing for Ministry Designs can work with small to mid-size churches. The pricing structure is simple. The cost is currently $1000 up front for the template, and then $20 per month. While $1000 may not seem cheap, you do get a great template and a great system for designing your website. Compared to a custom design, it is cheap. The $20 monthly cost is very reasonable for a system like this.
Although I work with several churches on their websites, I really am limited in how many sites I can do. For many churches, they are looking for a system they can use on their own. If that describes you or your church, then I feel Ministry Designs is a great solution. If you are interested in using Ministry Designs, please contact me. I have a special deal for one of my readers here on the blog.
