I am very interested in some of the neat sermon intro videos that churches are doing now. I downloaded a trial copy of Adobe After Effects, but after just a few minutes of playing with it, I realized that it is not a program to learn without going through tutorials and using some reference books. I even contacted a technical arts guy at another church to see if he would be interested in doing some freelance video work. For a 20 second video to open the series that I am doing now at church, the cost was going to be around $400. So being the cheapskate that I am, I decided to do a quick video using Adobe Premier Elements. Of course I can’t do all the neat 3d stuff that I wanted to do, but for 90 minutes of work, I feel that this turned out decent. I am really glad that some church like LifeChurch.tv and NewSpring are offfering their videos for free. I think videos and media make such an impact and stick in peoples memories, but the cost to buy the programs and do the videos is just too much for most small churches. Anyway, here’s the current series intro for Cornerstone.
