A Better Way to Manage Cords
All my friends who work with bands or in churches with live audio will appreciate this. Check out the GaffGun. It tapes down audio, video, and electrical cords in seconds. Gaffing tape is durable and it doesn’t leave a residue, so it works great to tape down cords. I can think of a lot of times where this would have worked great.

Scannable – An App That You Will Use
Every now and then, you come across an app that really works and fills a need. This is one of those apps. If you ever need to email or send a document, forget the scanner and just use this app. It’s quick, it’s easy to use, and it does a great job capturing multi-page pdf files, receipts, and business cards.

PictureLife – Online Photo Storage
UPDATE: August 2016 – Picturelife has gone through financial trouble and has finally announced that they are officially closing. If you used the service, you can still download your pictures from SmugMug. It’s hard to compete with Google, and when Google Photos offered free unlimited photo and video storage, Picturelife was simply unable to compete. I’m using Google Photos now with great

Why I Bought a Pebble Watch Instead of Waiting for the Apple Watch
I was excited when Apple finally announced the long-awaited Apple Watch. I watched the video demonstration, and was already thinking about one, until the price was announced. The cheapest version will start at $349. For me, that was the deal breaker. It’s simply not in my budget. After thinking about it, I see several challenges that Apple will have to

Keeping Track of What Needs to Be Done
I have always struggled with keeping track of everything I need to do on a weekly basis. Between church, family, and life, I always have more to do and somewhere else I need to be. So, for me, technology has helped me become more organized. I have tried several task management systems in the past, but I have settled on using a

How to Record Sermon Audio for Your Website or Podcast
Recording the Message I’ve helped several churches start recording the audio from their sermons to include on their website. The goal in each case is to get a quality recording that can easily be listened to online or downloaded through a podcast. Way back in 2007, I wrote a tutorial on how to setup a podcast. Although some of the

Initial Thoughts on the iPhone 6
I’ve had my iPhone 6 for almost a week now. Since I had my iPhone 5 a full two years, I was out of contract with Verizon and able to turn it in so that I could buy the new phone. I’m still getting used to the bigger size, but it’s a good change. After 2 years, my battery really needed

What Paid Facebook Means for Churches
http://www.churchleaders.com/worship/worship-articles/176369-jim-sedgwick-paid-facebook-means-for-churches.html This is a great article. I’ve struggled with the same problem. Facebook really isn’t effective for a church now unless you are willing to pay. This quote should make you think. From the article .. Facebook without payment is like a trial version with 15 percent functionality.

It’s Ordered
Two years ago, I switched from the android world to Apple when the iPhone 5 came out. I liked the power of android phones and the ability to customize, but I got tired of having to root my phone just to get updates that the manufacturer refused to release. The fragmentation of android is a little better now, but

Quick Graphics for Church Announcements
I shared last month about the Shift Media Creator App. It’s a great way to create graphics for your church. I wanted to share with you another video showing you practical ways you can use it to create announcement graphics for your church with your phone. Just snap a picture, add effects and filters, save it, and you have a great image.
