Ministry Pass Review
Let me introduce you to a great new service. Most churches do not have a full-time graphic designer on staff. For our church, this means that as pastor, I spend time on creating graphics for new sermon series and events. There are a few sites that provide sermon graphics, but I always have trouble finding graphics that will work with the topic I am interested in preaching on.
Ministry Pass is a new service that provide creative graphic content for your church. It is a membership based site, with a yearly membership costing $399 (They are currently offering a special introductory rate of $299) Before you say that is too much money, think about what it would cost to hire a graphic designer to design sermon graphics, social media graphics, and even youth and children’s ministry graphic for your ministry. They also offer slides and graphics for special events in your church. I appreciate that many of the graphics can be customized through Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements or Affinity Photo).
2018 UPDATE
We have continued using Ministry Pass since the time of this review. It has been a HUGE help to us. I love taking their graphics and adding my own unique preaching content. The quality is great, and their selection has now grown to include a huge library of topics and themes. I still highly recommend this company.
After browsing through the site, this is something I am definitely excited about. I’m already planning on using several of their graphics for my 2015 sermon series.
Ministry Pass provides done-for-you resources that include sermon series (for students, adults, and children), special event packages (VBS and youth big event night materials), and weekly announcement slides. Every bundle comes with:
- Sermon Series Guide
- Photoshop Layers
- Series Title Jpeg
- Video Bumper and Countdown
- Scripture/Point Jpeg
- Facebook Cover Image
- Facebook Timeline Image
- Instagram Image
- Print Ready Postcard Front
- Bulletin Shell Cover
Here are a few examples of the graphics you will find on their site. Browse their site to see the whole collection. Each month, more resources will be added.

Hey Mike
I pastor a small church, with no support staff and have been thinking about signing up for Ministry Pass. I’m looking for an independent review to help me make a decision. I stumbled on you post and am curious if you are still using Ministry Pass and if you have any additional thoughts
Matthew, we are still using this service! We still love it. We use it two ways. We use their sermon guides as a reference and plan out sermon series. I like their guides, because they give you a starting point, but you still need to do the work to come up with an outline and message that fits your context. The other way we use it is to just find graphics that match what we are talking about. This works great if you are preaching through a book. It’s not cheap, but I really am thankful. My only suggestion now is that I also need to create lower thirds each series for our livestream, but that’s pretty easy if you have photoshop or canva.
Thanks Mike
This will be helpful in my discussions with my board for consideration in making this investment.
I don’t recommend Ministry Pass based on my experience with a subscription that I made by mistake.
Consider this. I’m the pastor of a church in Forest Grove who was looking for a slide for my series on King David. Ministry Pass had what I was looking for, so I decided to sign up for a free-trial. They have some good stuff. Unfortunately, I got busy and didn’t take the time to really look at all they had to offer. I also forgot that my trial was coming to an end (think of how often this happens to all of us.)
When I got billed, I contacted their customer service to ask if they could please cancel my subscription. Our church suffered some financial challenges through COVID and can’t currently afford the cost associated with the subscription. As a Christian organization, you’d think that they’d extend me some grace, but they didn’t.
They’re willing to have a reluctant, unsastisfied customer paying them their monthly subscription fee than a happy one who can feel good about the ministry of their company.
Is that the kind of ministry you want to support? I don’t. But unfortunately, I have to. At least for this year.
Sad.
