The Refugee Crisis

It seems that everyone is talking about the Syrian refugee crisis. While much has been written about what we shouldn’t do, I want to share what we can do. While our government works toward a solution to prevent terrorists from entering our country, as Christians, we are commanded to care for those in need. We simply cannot use the Bible to justify turning our backs to those who are fleeing religious persecution and terror.

So how can you help? First we pray, and then we help. Here are two tangible ways.

Samaritan’s Purse

First, Support Samaritan’s Purse. They are on the ground in Europe ministering and reaching out. Click here to learn more and support their ministry. Watch this video to learn more about what is happening.

The Nazarene Fund

Secondly, you can actually support and help Christians who are being persecuted. Learn more about The Nazarene Fund and how you can work through local churches to help refugees find a new home.

Update:

I have a friend who works for WorldHelp – they are another great organization that is working with refugees from Iraq and Syria. Go here to learn more.

Another friend mentioned Baptist Global Response. Check out their website to learn more about how they are helping.
