Do you want to go on a wild goose chase?

I am currently reading through Mark Batterson’s new book, Wild Goose Chase. It continues the strong sense of adventure from Mark’s first book about being a Lion Chaser.   It officially goes on sale this Tuesday, but I wanted to give you a chance to win a copy of the book before the release.

Here’s the deal: If you would like to win a copy, leave a comment on this post about why I should give it to you.  I will pick a winner at 10pm Monday night, so be sure to get your comment in.   I will either ship the book or hand deliver it on Tuesday.

Look for my full review of the book tomorrow as well.  Until then, Chase the Lion and Chase the Goose!

Most of us have no idea where we’re going most of the time. Perfect.

“Celtic Christians had a name for the Holy Spirit–An Geadh-Glas, or ‘the Wild Goose.’ The name hints at mystery. Much like a wild goose, the Spirit of God cannot be tracked or tamed. An element of danger, an air of unpredictability surround Him. And while the name may sound a little sacrilegious, I cannot think of a better description of what it’s like to follow the Spirit through life. I think the Celtic Christians were on to something….

Most of us will have no idea where we are going most of the time. And I know that is unsettling. But circumstantial uncertainty also goes by another name: Adventure.” –from the introduction.

Book sounds very interesting and from all the comments on different sites it will go on my list of books to read this fall. Might want to read the first book first? What else is on your reading list? God bless.

You should give it to me because I am your wife and what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours – actually I guess that is why you shouldn’t give it to me – because I can just read your copy – when you are finished with it, of course.

I have heard good reviews from this book, the older I get the more interesting books are becoming

You should give it to me because as a Pastor I don’t make a lot of money and I need to read in order to teach the Hillsville Youth. I will take all of the free books that I can get. In reality though I have a stack of about 50 that need to be read.

I just checked the comments and it's time to declare the winner. My heart always goes out to pastors, especially associate pastors, so Ronnie slips in at the end and wins the book.

Doug, I've appreciated your comments and prayers. It would be good to read the prequel to Wild Goose Chase which is titled, In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. Mark Batterson has an affinity for writing about animals, but I can assure you that both books really challenge you to live life to the fullest. You can check out some more books that I am reading on my sidebar at my blog or at http://www.librarything.com/catalog/mikewmorris&tag=current.

Jenni, well I might let you read my copy, it just depends on how you ask. 🙂

Chad, thanks for posting, it's a good book, so I hope you get to read it.

And to all, thanks for dropping by the site.
