What a Weekend

Wow, what can I say. We have had a great weekend. It actually started Friday night with over 20 screaming kids (all under 10) at my house watching the world premier of High School Musical 2 on the Disney Channel. After we recovered from that, we had a good Saturday just hanging out together as a family. The whole family went and setup a big swimming pool to use for our church baptism on Sunday (okay, insert your redneck joke here…) My dad filled up the pool with the tanker truck from the fire department. It’s cool filling up a 800 gallon pool in less than 5 minutes. And then Sunday

WOW. We had an incredible crowd at our church land. It had to be our largest service of the year. We had beautiful weather, low 80’s with a mountain breeze, and we had a great time outside. The theme for our service Sunday was celebration, and we did a lot of celebrating. We started out by observing the Lord’s Supper together. I can’t stand communion services where everybody looks like there at a funeral. Yes we are looking back to what Christ did on the cross, but we gather to celebrate the fellowship we have with each other and we celebrate that Christ is coming back! It should be a time of joy and happiness. We then had a good time of just getting to know each other and our guests during a meet-and-greet. And then we started dunking. We had 11 people who followed the example of Christ by being baptized. And to top it all off, we had fried chicken from KFC. What a weekend. I’ll try to posts some pics and maybe a video. One of the funniest sights of the weekend was seeing Jimmy throw a bunch of the kids into the pool after the baptism. I told you, it was a celebration!
