Goodbye to the Crocodile Hunter

It’s a sad day in the Morris household after we learned today of Steve Irwin’s death. Our prayers go out to his family as they go through such a tragic loss. My kids have always loved the “Croc Hunter” and I have enjoyed his shows over the years. We even have the dvd of the full length movie he did. My kids’ favorite dvd of him is the one when the Wiggles visit the Australia Zoo.

Being the youth leader that I am, I think there is a lesson to be learned in this. Even if you are an expert, if you stay around danger long enough, you will eventually get in trouble. Steve Irwin died from a freak accident from an animal that is not very dangerous compared to what he is around on a daily basis. But too many times, teens stay right on the edge of danger thinking they can stay safe. And it is then that something they are not expecting will push them over the edge.
